MLS Mascot Mania: Fans Crown Cozmo King, Saker Falcon Flunks
A new survey has revealed MLS fans' favorite (and least favorite) mascots with nine out of ten fans believing they add to the game day experience.
There’s nothing like a fan-based survey to set the cat amongst the pigeons, and nothing more so than the best and worst MLS mascots. Casino.ca commissioned a survey amongst 2,000 MLS fans asking them to rank on a scale of 1-5 the following:
Who’s your favorite MLS mascot?
Which MLS mascot is the most intimidating/scary?
Do you feel mascots add to the game experience?
What do you like most about mascots?
And the findings:
Cozmo (LA Galaxy) ranks 1st place as the best mascot with a score of 4.415
Bitchy the Hawk (Toronto FC) ranks as the 2nd best (3.31), with Blue the Dog (Sporting Kansas City) in 3rd place (3.30)
Saker Falcon (Los Angeles Football Club) ranks as the worst mascot in the MLS (2.3)
90% of MLS fans feel mascots add to the game experience, while 63% say it’s due to their entertainment value
Overall, 19% of fans felt mascots boosted team morale, 63% found them generally entertaining, 6% liked their attitude and ability to put the heebie-jeebies up the opposing team, 9% thought they were cute, while 3% didn’t like them at all.
